My interviewee, Mr. Patrick Joseph M. Capili, is an 18-year-old who is currently a student in Ateneo de Manila University. Before university, he spent 12 years as a student in Ateneo where he was a student from Grade 1 until graduating Grade 12 in 2018. He is now on his 2nd year in the university, studying AB IS with tracks focusing on Management and Communications. He actually shifted into AB IS after one year as an AB Humanities student. He felt that AB IS, with its two tracks would give him better skills when it comes to future endeavors; Law school, specifically Ateneo Law school or UP Diliman College of Law. He feels that law school could really give him knowledge when it comes to business, which he plans to pursue. Currently, he has no specific set plans after graduating university.
Distance is a huge factor for Patrick, as he goes to and from Antipolo City, where he currently resides with his parents and younger brother. He would often stay in the campus or establishments surrounding the university in order to pass time, as his driver would usually pick him at 7 o’clock in the evening. Patrick could often be seen in the New Rizal Library, doing his homework and other requirements in order to pass time. However, upon reaching his home, Patrick spends his time reading books on different topics that he finds interesting. On the weekends, he would try to find the time to play football. There is a Catholic youth church group which he often attends called Timothy. When it comes to extracurricular school activities, he is an active member of two Ateneo Orgs: SOH Sanggu and ASEC. In general, Patrick fits the description of an Atenean student who one should look up to. He excels in his academics, plans on studying even after university, is active in orgs and in a Catholic church group.
