1. Huffington Post

"Homeland Security To Compile A Database Of Journalists, Bloggers And Influencers"

I found this blog site quite interesting as it was credible. Huffington post has quite a reputation and is relatively fresh as well. The article posted is about how The Department of Homeland Security wants to gather a list of journalists, bloggers, and influencers. I would say that this is very relevant, especially to American liberals, as it was as if the government wants to "watch over" what these people say about the government. It's "Big Brother" rearing its ugly head once again.

2. Business Insider

"2 Americans and 1 Spaniard gored at the running of the bulls."

Similar to The Huffington Post, Business Insider is also a very reputable news blog. I found the topic quite eye catching since I know a bit about the bull-fighting tradition in Spain, and I do not support what that tradition stands for. I actually found the article quite funny and reminds me of a saying: "play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

3. The Guardian

"'The odour of burning wakes us': inside the Philippines' Plastic City"

This hits close to home, as this literally is from our homeland: The Philippines. It's an blog post on the lives and hardships of those that live beside a plastic recycling plant. It tells us of how they struggle daily, closing the windows even though the heat is unbearable, and the need to bury their noses in their pillows as they sleep to escape the smell of burning plastic.

4. Manila Times

"Trust in the Constitution of the oceans as key to peace in SCS"

The Manila Times is a reputable news source, so I decided to go with this as one of my entries. The article talks about how President Duterte's soft spot for China and its current issue with the Philippines over the South China Sea and how he remains neutral and non-assertive. However, the writer tells us to simply trust the constitution, as it has everything the country needs to assert its ownership of the area.

5. The Philippine Daily Inquirer

"Ex-BOC chief Biazon: Not anybody can just write about Customs"

Once again, the Philippine Daily Inquirer is a local news website that is relevant and trustworthy. The headline of the article, however, would make it seem that ex-Customs chief Biazon is telling, almost threatening the media that they can simply write about the BOC. However, once you read the article, it is just him expressing that he does not feel that Mocha Uson could write about the BOC. This is due to current commissioner Faeldon wanted to offer Mocha the opportunity to write about the BOC.
